Train Smarter. Climb Stronger. Move Better.

Personal Training for London Climbers

Progress with Confidence

Climbing makes you stronger, but it doesn’t cover everything. Personal training supports the areas climbing misses so you can move well, build strength that actually helps on the wall, and avoid common injuries.

Our PTs understand climbing demands, how shoulders take load, how the core stabilises, how hips and spine affect movement, and how easily fingers and elbows get overworked. Focused training makes climbing feel smoother and more sustainable.

Whether you’re new or pushing harder grades, guidance helps you train safely and keep progressing.

MATT

I’m a Level 3 Personal Trainer and Level 4 Nutrition Coach, specialising in focused 1‑to‑1 coaching that builds strength, improves performance and supports long‑term, sustainable progress.

As an ultra‑marathon runner and dedicated climber, I understand how to push hard while staying injury‑free. I bring that same balance into my coaching, combining progressive programming, technique‑driven sessions and a long‑term approach that keeps training effective without burnout.

My goal is to help you move better, feel stronger and build confidence in your sport and everyday life.

ELLIE

I’m a certified personal trainer and perinatal fitness instructor, specialising in helping beginners and intermediates train in a way that feels effective, realistic and genuinely fun. My goal is to help you build strength, confidence and a real love for moving your body.

After years of working a full‑time desk job, I know how hard it can feel to exercise when it seems like another chore. My approach is all about finding sustainable, enjoyable ways to look after your health without feeling like you’re constantly compromising.

I take a holistic view of your life so we can find a balance that supports your wellbeing. I’m fully inclusive: all body types and fitness levels are welcome, and my services are LGBTQIA+ friendly, non‑intimidating and judgement‑free.

PIETER

I’m a certified Level 3 personal trainer who genuinely loves helping people get fitter and stronger, especially those who don’t feel at home in a traditional gym. Over the years I’ve found I work best with people who want to start (or restart) their fitness journey but feel unsure where to begin. Busy work schedules, kids, past injuries, low confidence… life gets in the way, and that’s completely normal.

Not everyone wants to be a gym rat, and honestly, I’m grateful for that. I don’t like rats!

All ages, body types, and fitness levels are welcome, I’ll be your biggest supporter. Bonus: my dog, Skiuki, will be your unofficial mascot.

LAURA

Get stronger, feel better and have fun doing it, that’s my whole mission!

I’m a climber and strength & conditioning specialist, and I’ve been helping people do exactly that at Stronghold, now Climbing District, since the London Fields site first opened.

I love working with anyone who’s ready to break through a plateau, whether that’s on the wall or in everyday life. I’m a firm believer that stronger is always better, and my goal is to help you catch the strength bug too.

My coaching is all about giving you the knowledge, confidence and movement awareness to take control of your training and build the strongest version of your future self.

SARA

I’m a qualified Personal Trainer and Physiotherapist. I help people get stronger, move better and feel more confident in the gym without overcomplicating things.

My approach blends physiotherapy with strength training, so whether you’re coming back from injury or simply want to train properly, you’re in safe hands. I focus on solid technique, building strength and helping you understand your body, not just follow a plan.

No quick fixes, just training that works and results that last.

It’s training designed to make you a better climber, not just a fitter human.

Not at all. We work with complete beginners, returning climbers, and seasoned crushers. Your coach will tailor everything to your level, goals, and confidence on the wall.

Yes, but sustainably. Your coach will identify strength gaps, movement patterns, and mobility limitations that might be holding you back. Expect structured progressions, measurable improvements, and fewer plateaus.

All sessions run inside Climbing District gyms, using a mix of the climbing walls, training boards, free weights, mobility tools, and our dedicated strength areas. To check which gym a coach works from and see their availability, just contact the PT you’d like to train with.

Most climbers book weekly or fortnightly sessions, but it depends on your goals, schedule, and budget. Your coach can help you build a training plan that fits your life.

Absolutely. Our coaches focus heavily on shoulder health, finger care, core stability, and balanced strength, all essential for long‑term climbing. For injuries, PTs can support your rehab plan, but they don’t replace medical professionals.

No, you can book PT without a membership. To get started, just contact the coach you want to work with. They’ll confirm their availability and which of our gyms they run sessions from.

Each coach has their own strengths, from mobility and movement coaching to power and confidence‑building on the wall. Browse their profiles to find the right fit for your climbing.

Yes. Many climbers use PT to build confidence, learn movement basics, and get comfortable in the gym environment. Your coach will meet you exactly where you are.
